Hi - We have one excellent book on this topic entitled "Art of the Event", but it is kept in the reserve area and can only be used in the library. The reserve area is on the right as you enter the library (you will see a sign "TEXTBOOKS"). You need your ID and the call number, which is GT3405 .M66 (2006). These books can be used in the library only, for up to 2 hours.
Additionally, you should search the general databases as well as the business-specific ones using a combination of terms in the search box, such as "event and planning". Below are two representative articles on this topic. Take note of the databases they are found in and the "subject terms" provided by each and you will get a better idea of how to find additional articles. The term "special events" seems important - you can choose the advanced search page and put that in the search box and choose Subject from the drop-down box, then put "planning" etc. in one of the other boxes as a keyword.
The library homepage "library.ncc.edu" has a search screen which will tap into mulitple resources. You can try your search terms here, but I would suggest also trying individual databases such as General OneFile and Business Source Complete. Contact us if you need further help with the databases, or, if you are in the library ask a reference librarian to help you.
